8 Waterfalls in under 24 hours
Planned out a loop of 10 Waterfalls
Although we weren't able to hit all 10, this trip with my childhood best friend turned into a lifelong memory! Throughout the short weekend, we probley hiked close to 20 miles in 2 days. Our journey began with camping on Lake Cle Elm beach, waking up to a rainbow, and making instant coffee and Kodiak pancakes. Does it get much better than that? Our waterfall loop in order was Franklin Falls, Weeks Falls, Twin Falls, Teneriffe Falls, Snoqualmie Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Deception Falls, and finally Dury Falls. DOing a waterfall trip during May is just about the best thing to do in WA state besides visiting Olyimpic National Park.
Fallen Tree
This had to have been the biggest tree that I've ever seen, sad to see that it had fallen and its life of growing was over. At least it still serves a purpose which would be considered a main attraction near weeks falls. Pictures absolutely do not do justice to show just how massive it was.
Franklin Falls
The first and most powerful waterfall of them all, the amount of water pounding the ground was incredible. Even standing 50 feet back, the mist still soaked myself and the camera. this waterfall sits right under the freeway, you could drive right over it without even knowing the beauty beneath your car. It was a great waterfall to start the trip with and had me extremely excited fore the rest.
Twin Falls
Twin Falls was Kyle's favorite stop. I'll admit, the waterfall wasn't only majestic but the hike to it was also incredible. Massive trees of lush green forest. The trail was extremely busy and there were cars parked well beyond the parking lot. That didn't deter us from seeing it and was well worth it! very unique string-like water flowing down the massive rock.
Leavenworth
What a perfect stop to end the trip, although the town was flooded with tourists I was amazed at the beauty and energy. Kyle and I ate at Gustav's and both got a Bison burger, which was very much appreciated after road trip food. As we waited for our food we reflected on the trip and how much we had just accomplished. A sigh of relief looking forward to a warm shower when we arrived home, but also sad the trip flew by.
